Enneagrams

What is an Enneagram?

I was chatting with an old college friend via Instagram the other week and she asked me if I am an Enneagram 1.

I had no idea what that meant.

She explained it is a personality test and there are 9 types.

The Enneagram is a personality system that aims to reveal how emotions drive our lives and how we engage with others in an effort to get what we want and need. The Enneagram defines nine personality types, each with its own set of strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for personal growth.
Your Enneagram type reveals what motivates you on a very deep level, and illuminates the path you must take to achieve a higher level of self-actualization.

Apparently, I was reminding her a lot of her sister, who is an Enneagrm 1.

The Test

I found a free version of the test online and I took it. It was mostly rating statements about myself as Inaccurate, Somewhat Inaccurate, Neutral, Somewhat Accurate, and Accurate.

I felt like I chose Neutral way more often than I should have.

Enneagram 9

According to the test, I am an Enneagram 9

Nine
98% MATCH
Type 9 is also called The Peacemaker. Nines like to keep a low profile and let the people around them set the agenda.

I find my results to be fairly accurate. I do NOT like to be the center of attention, it gives me anxiety. I prefer to be more of a fly on the wall and observe, most of the time.

My somewhat distant 2nd and 3rd place Enneagrams are 5 at 78%, The Investigator and & 6 at 77%, The Skeptic.

Based on a link my friend sent me with the Enneagram descriptions before I took the test, I knew I would NOT be and Enneagram 3 or 8, which are The Achiever and The Challenger, respectively. I only scored 43% for those ones, so no surprise there!

You can take the same test I did HERE.
