Minnesota (Part 2)

Minneapolis

On our second day in Minnesota (first full day), we did tons of walking around in downtown Minneapolis. We first walked to a diner to get some breakfast/lunch, but it was super busy.

Level Up Games

There was a game store just down the block, Level Up Games. We figured we couldn’t not check it out when we were so close to it. It is a basement store that is exactly how you would picture a game store to be. It had more seating for events than I would have guessed, which was cool. It had a good vibe for gamers and I imagine customers would find gaming fun there.

Eggy’s

After the game store, we walked a couple of blocks to eat at Eggy’s. There was a wait, but that was going to be the case wherever we went. They also required masks when you weren’t at your table. Of course, there were assholes that went in maskless.

Our breakfast/lunch was really good. Jeff was able to get a burger and fries and I got breakfast foods! I love breakfast foods.

Sculpture Park

After stuffing ourselves at Eggy’s, we headed toward the Sculpture Park by the Walker Art Museum. We walked through Loring Park on our way and took some nice shots of the little pond.

We crossed a bridge over 4+ lanes of traffic and strolled around the Sculpture Park. I think we got pictures of every piece. Jeff’s favorite was the blue chicken, or Blue Cock as it is actually called.

I liked the big spoon with the cherry. I don’t know why. Perhaps because I was familiar with it from pictures?

On our way back from the Sculpture Park, we crossed the bridge again, as you can see below.

Bird Attack

While walking through Loring Park again, a crap ton of birds were flying over the pond and I wanted to get a cool shot of them. I couldn’t get it.

Suddenly, they came flying at us and we literally had to duck and cover our heads so they didn’t hit us. I wish I had gotten that on camera!

We did take quite a few shots of them after they were on the ground because they were swarming us. The birds and a bunch of squirrels, including the squirrel behind me in the picture that looks like its about to perform a sneak attack.

Target

We survived the birds and the squirrels and made our way to the two-story Target that was a few blocks from our hotel, the Millennium Minneapolis. I was pretty excited to go to a two-story Target. Turns out it’s pretty much the same as a one-level Target. They don’t really have anything extra.

Brit’s Pub

We returned to our hotel to relax until dinner time. We went to Brit’s Pub, another restaurant we could walk to. We ordered a whole bunch of fried foods and it was delicious. I didn’t order a drink this time, so it was also a much cheaper meal!
