Back to The Game Capital
The Game Capital
I have been going to our store, The Game Capital, a couple of times a week lately. I typically go to work on a big project that needs to be done, but no one else has time for.
Currently, that job is listing dead inventory on eBay. It's a big job, but not an urgent one. So I go whenever I feel like going and work for a couple of hours at a time.
The first time I went, it felt pretty weird. I don’t know some of our employees, since they have been hired during COVID.
No Desk
I don’t have my desk anymore. Our General Manager took it over months ago (with my permission) since I waan’t using it anyways. I told him to just pack up my stuff and I would pick it up. When I picked it up, he just handed me a box at the door and I walked away. It felt like I was fired, haha.
Business Growth
So now I sit at whatever available desk there is, which is fine. It was odd to have new employees around the store, going about their business. I’m technically their boss, but I don't even know how to do most of the stuff they do anymore.
I think that's what happens naturally as businesses grow. It’s just odd since when I started working from home due to the Pandemic, we have gained lots of staff. We had about 12 employees at the start of the pandemic, now we have 25+. And we still need to hire more staff!
