Things Falling Apart
Crap Week
This week has been a bit of a crap week. Lots of things have been falling apart around our house. The heat isn’t helping.
AC
We realized our AC wasn’t working properly last week. The compressor is shot, which means we have to get a brand new AC unit. We could just fix the compressor, but it would still be costly and we might still have problems down the road.
We don’t get our AC until Wednesday. It’s been a hot as hell week in Wisconsin, especially for June! Its been in the 90’s inside, and basically just as hot inside our house thanks to no AC.
Once we learned we had to totally shut off our AC so we didn’t set our house on fire with the bad compressor, I went and bought some fans at Costco.
We soon realized we needed more so that we didn’t have to keep moving the fans around according to where we were in the house, so I returned a few days later to buy more. They were out of fans, aside from 1 tabletop fan that I purchased.
I ran to Target in hopes of finding more fans and got some fans from there, so now we should be all good for a while.
We told our staff at The Game Capital about our lack of AC and one of our employees offered his portable AC unit that he wasn’t using at his apartment. We gladly took it!
Garage
One evening, we were sitting on our couch watching TV with our fans blasting air at us and we heard a sound in the garage. Jeff went to investigate and found that one of our shelving units had collapsed. It was bearing a lot of weight and the plastic probably gave out in the heat. So, now our garage looks like this:
This is after we cleaned it up enough to be able to access our cars. We haven’t fixed it since then because it’s been too damn hot!
Laptop
On top of all of that, my laptop decided to start breaking down, literally.
Granted I am still typing on it now, so it still works, but I don’t think it will last a whole lot longer. I already purchased a new one, I just have to get it set up.
Highlights
Despite all these things, there were some nice highlights to the week, like when I went to visit my friend Anna, and her 4-year-old daughter. As I was heading out the door, her daughter shouted, “Wait, I wanna give you something to remember me by!” as she ran to her room. She returned with a little necklace she made. It was so sweet.
Inside
Oh! And Bo Burnham’s Inside (The Songs) was finally released on Spotify a few days ago!
The night I got it, I was listening to it on my headphone and singing along with White Woman’s Instagram for my husband. I did a little dance with it and he said he wished he had recorded it.
Jeff also told me that I had been crabby earlier in the day and I seemed nicer after I listened to Bo Burnham.
I love Bo, if you couldn’t tell.
