Bay Beach

Not a Beach

Last Wednesday, my parents, sister, and nephew came to Green Bay to go to Bay Beach.

By the way, Bay Beach is not actually a beach. It’s an amusement park. It used to have a beach, and they are working on making the beach usable again, but it got overrun by yuck a long time ago.

Rides

Anyways, we went to Bay Beach and rode on the carousel, which Stephen loved, the train, and the new Ferris Wheel. Erica, Jeff and I rode the swings, which is probably my favorite ride. My parents took Stephen on some kiddie rides while we did that. Erica rode the bumper cars and then everyone but Jeff and I rode the Tilt-a-Whirl.

Swings!

By that time, we were all done with the park because it was disgustingly hot out. We went to Tuscon’s for a late lunch and that was the day.

Staff Issues

A lot of rides have been closed on random days due to staff shortages. They employ mostly high school and college students, who are all going back to school. I think there are also a fair amount of workers that don’t want to work there due to COVID. Even though Bay Beach is mainly outdoors and seems pretty safe, I don’t blame them.
