Packing
Land
I haven’t posted in awhile because I have been busy packing up our house!
Back in September, we put in an offer on some land to build a house on. We were excited to start the building process in October so that we could possibly have a new house waiting for us (or close to finished) when we get back from Florida in early April.
Well, that land purchase fell through because of easement issues, which made the seller keep backing up the closing date.
House
We decided to look at some houses that we could buy and the second one we saw, we fell in love with.
It’s bigger than we had originally thought we wanted, but it has most of the features we were looking for. You can’t really get the features I wanted in a smaller house, unless you custom build. That’s why we wanted to build in the first place.
Offer
A few days after viewing the house, our realtor told us that there were other interested buyers looking to make an offer. I freaked out a bit, but we were able to get our bank loan in place and get an offer in that day.
They accepted our offer that evening!
I will share more about the house once we have closed on it in January. We will actually be in Florida at that point since we are going to try out life as snowbirds!
Packing
I have been packing up the house for moving so we don’t have too much to do when we get back from Florida.
Our house is currently full of boxes and tote bins. We've made a couple of trips to St. Vincent de Paul and Goodwill with donations already, and there will be more of that as I continue going through the basement.
Florida
In a couple weeks, I will have to start packing for Florida (mainly clothes). Whatever I don’t pack for Florida will probably be packed in bins and boxes so they are ready to go when we return to Wisconsin.
The trip down to Florida is going to be interesting…we are taking our pets with us. That means we will have 3 cats and a dog with us. It takes about 22 hours to get to the Orlando area where our rental is. We are going to break that up with two 11 hour days of driving with a break in the Nashville area in between.
Wish us luck! We may need it.
