NOOM
NOOM App
I started using the NOOM App yesterday. I haven’t been eating very well since I did the Game On! Diet Challenge and I needed something to kick my butt back into gear.
I had tried NOOM a few years ago and I wasn’t good at tracking my meals, so it wasn’t useful to me at the time.
This time, I’m going all in. I’m home all day anyways and mostly making my own meals due to the pandemic, so I have full control over what I eat.
Recipes and Cooking
I also have the time to find recipes and cook meals that can take awhile. That was part of the issue before, I didn’t have the time and I am not good at planning ahead. I ate mostly Lean Cuisines and Smart Ones meals.
Between working at our store, going to Zumba classes, maintaining a bit of a social life and relaxing, I was too busy. I also don’t know how to cook really, so a lot of my food ends up burned. I’m getting better, though.
The Weigh-In
I had to weigh myself this morning in order to move forward on the NOOM App. I was not excited. I haven’t weighed myself in a long time. I was trying to keep myself from knowing my weight so that I could feel better about myself.
Well, that’s not working anymore. The number on my scale was not a pretty one. I already gained back half of the weight I lost on the Game On Diet.
The Bright Side
I’m so disappointed in myself. But, I am trying to to dwell on that.
The bright side is that this gives me the butt-kicking I need to make weight loss a priority!
The other good news is that the Game On! Diet set me up for a similar way of eating to what NOOM recommends. It has more leeway though, since it is supposed to be a “lifestyle change” and not a diet.
The hope is that I can lose about 2 pounds a week. That’s a healthy amount to go with. We will see how it goes!
