Zumba Instructor?
I am trying a “new” thing during this quaratine. I have started online training to become a Zumba Instructor!
I have always wanted to have access to all the zumba music and choreography that I learn in my Zumba classes. Sometimes, I just want to know what a song I like is called so I can dowload it for myself. Or, when an instructor asks for requests, I’d like to be able to actually name a song instead of trying to show them some of the choreography from one I like.
The only way I knew how to become a licensed instructor was to travel to an 8 hour class in some other city. That is not something I have any interest in doing.
During this current quarantine, I found out (due to ads) that I could take online training to be a Zumba Instructor. Just 10 hours at my own pace. Now THAT, I was interested in!
I thought about it for a few days and actually talked to one of my instructors/friends about it. She encouraged me to do it, so I did!
Does this mean I will start leading classes in-person when quarantine ends? No. Hell no.
The most I would potentially do as far as leading classes would be to do youtube videos or perhaps a live Twitch stream.
So far, I have completed the introduction, 1 hour zumba class, and the first quiz. The zumba class was only difficult because the songs were all new to me and I didn’t know the choreography yet. So, I will hopefully be able to pass the training with little to no problem!
