Halloween 2020
Halloween Weekend
Last weekend was Halloween!
This was the first year in some time that I didn’t dress up for Halloween because I didn’t go to Halloween Zumba. I’ve had memories from past Halloween Zumba pop up on my Facebook timeline. They made me kinda sad.
We also didn’t hand out any candy this year. We have a couple of times in the past, but with COVID, I didn’t really want to deal with it.
We set up some patio chairs to block our walkway and kept our outside lights off to signal that we didn’t have any candy.
Creepy Kids
We still had some kids come and ring our doorbell. They must have skipped the walkway and run through our yard.
When we didn’t answer the doorbell, they decided to lean over and peek into our house through the sidelight windows. They weren’t quick peeking either. They really took their time and stared in at us. It was creepy as hell.
Those are the only kids we are aware of that came to the door. Shortly after that happened, we went out to our back “bonus room” to do a Halloween painting project.
Palette and Pub
I ordered some Take-Home Kits from a local paint & wine (paint and daiquiri for me!) studio, Palette and Pub. We have gone to Palette and Pub a few times. We went for my birthday last year, which also happened to be Friends-themed.
Valentine’s Day
The Office night
and a Harry Potter-themed night.
Halloween Take-Home Kit
Since we avoid crowds due to COVID, I chose a project that was a Take-Home kit. The Halloween-themed Take-Home kit was a black cat sitting on a pumpkin, which is perfect for us cat-lovers!
The Take-Home kit included a pre-sketched canvas, the paints we needed, and directions to follow.
You’ll notice we didn’t add all of the extra details that the original example painting had. We liked our paintings as they were and we didn’t want to screw them up!
We’ve always enjoyed going to Palette and Pub, and since we can’t go to their on-site events, it’s nice that we could do this Take-Home Kit!
