Election Week

Election Day

Last Tuesday was Election Day.

It turned into Election Week since there were so many mail-in ballots to count! Joe Biden is officially the most voted-for presidential candidate in history.

It gave me plenty of anxiety, just as I knew it would. I sent messages to my Talkspace therapist when I was in the thick of my anxiety around midnight on Election Day.

There were a ton of mail-in ballots to count! Joe Biden is officially the most voted-for presidential candidate in history.

Though it was mathematically unlikely, he could’ve still lost the election because of the Electoral College. The Electoral College should be abolished. It has no purpose.

President & Vice President

Finally on Saturday, Pennsylvania came through for the country and Joe Biden and Kamala Harris were announced as President and Vice President Elect!

It was a happy weekend for many of us. Decency, humanity and honesty will return to the White House!

Divided Nation

It makes me so sad that the election was so close in number. How can so many people think that the last 4 years have been ok? How can you vote for a president that thinks the COVID-19 Pandemic is a hoax?

It’s sad that the nation is still so divided. I am likely going to lose some friendships over this. But, I cannot keep agreeing to disagree with people that support inequality, racism, sexism, and so much more.

In all honesty, I started writing this post on Wednesday, November 4th. I didn’t want to keep writing until I knew who won the election. I was scared to post anything and jinx something, even though I know full well that my blog posts (at least not mine) would not have any effect on that.
