Wedding Time!

Wedding!

The General Manager of our store, The Game Capital, got married this past Saturday. I had been excited for the wedding for awhile, but I was a little nervous as it got closer because of the high rates of Delta COVID cases in our area. In the whole country, really.

COVID Concerns

I was mainly worried about getting COVID there, where I knew there would be unvaccinated people, and then taking it to my nephew for his 4th birthday the following day.

I talked with my nurse friend about it and she said that we should go and enjoy the wedding and just be safe. Since Stephen’s dad works with COVID patients at the hospital, Stephen is far more likely to get it from him than from me.

Dressed Up

Jeff waited until the last possible moment to get dressed and then he asked what tie to wear. I suggested a blue tie that he hadn’t worn before. We both struggled to try and get it tied correctly. I was even watching Youtube videos as we drove to the ceremony to try and get it. I got close, but not good enough. Luckily, we brought a salmon-colored tie along that was already tied from my sister’s wedding a few years ago.

In better news, I was excited because I have lost about 42 pounds at this point and I was able to fit into a dress I hadn’t worn before because it was too small! It was in my “Donate” pile. It fit perfectly (though it could have been a bit longer) and it has pockets!!

Ceremony

At the ceremony, Jeff and I started out wearing masks, but we were literally the only ones, so we took them off and just stayed with people we knew. We sat in the back of the audience so no one was behind us and breathing on us.

The ceremony was short and sweet, which was perfect.

After the ceremony, everyone was kicked out so they could change the space over for the reception. We didn’t know what to do with ourselves, so Jeff and I ended up going home for about 45 minutes. We took some pictures of us to kill some time.

Reception

We arrived at the reception with plenty of time. We sat with 3 of our staff members and on of their girlfriends. The other 2 staff members happen to be dating. It was a nice time and I got to know the girlfriend and our staff members a little better.

I noticed that none of the staff wore masks, which I didn’t care for, but the food was delicious! I got a chicken entrée and Jeff got the shrimp entrée. He liked his dinner and even ate some of the green beans.

Their cupcakes were also delicious and we ended up eating two of them each. So good!

We stayed through the first dances and a slow dance for everyone. The rest of our staff left and we followed when they started playing “Roll out the Barrel”. I was wearing heels for the first time in forever and my feet hurt. Plus, I didn’t want to be on a crowded dance floor with COVID still being a concern.

It sucks because my favorite part of weddings is the dancing and I had been looking forward to it, but stupid COVID had to go and get worse again. Argh.
