Minnesota (Part 3)
Family Day
Our third day in Minnesota was a family day. We went to my cousin Kim’s house to celebrate Kim’s son Carter’s birthday and her husband Jason’s birthday. Carter was just a little kid at our wedding almost 9 years ago.
Minnesota (Part 1)
Vacation
Jeff and I took our first vacation since February 2020, when we went to Cancun. That seems so long ago…
We hadn’t left the state since due to COVID and we didn’t want to fly anywhere just yet. We figured a road trip would be best.
New Phone, Who Dis?
I drop my phone all the time. Sometimes, it’s like my phone jumps out of my hands when I’m just holding it like a normal person. Usually, it’s fine and not a big deal.
Well, on Friday, that changed.
Most of July
I’ve been meaning to write a new blog post for awhile, but I’ve been spending all of my writing time working on the book I am writing. I don’t think I have mentioned the book I am currently working on yet, but it is a personal story for me that I am fictionalizing to make it easier for me to write.
Kayaking
After 2 cancelations due to weather and my dad not feeling well, I finally got to go out kayaking with my parents. We were supposed to go for Father's Day and there was finally a perfect weather day for it when we were all available.
One-Hit-Wonder
You know how irritating it is when you can’t think of the name of a song that is stuck in your head? This happens less frequently now that Google exists, but you still have to know a little bit of information about a song, like lyrics or the artist, in order for Google to help.
Zumba at Titletown
I got to go to a Zumba class for the first time in way too long yesterday. My friend Rochelle (from Zumba) let me know that the Titletown District had started their Summer Programming and a Tuesday Zumba class was on the schedule. I had been looking for it on their website, but I apparently missed it.
Things Falling Apart
This week has been a bit of a crap week. Lots of things have been falling apart around our house. The heat isn’t helping.
Back to The Game Capital
Pulled Over
I got pulled over last weekend.
Not in my car, but in my parents’ UTV. It was my first time driving it, of course. I was driving it back to my parents’ house after dinner in Iola. My parents, sister, and nephew were all in the UTV with me. Dad told me to drive through Olson Park and as I was exiting, a truck with lights pulled up behind us.
Date Day!
Jeff is officially 2 weeks past his last vaccination! We celebrated by having our first “Date Day” outing in over a year.
Mother’s Day
I got to see a lot of family that I haven’t seen since September this weekend. Most of my mom’s side of the family gathered at my mom’s house for Mother’s Day yesterday. My grandparents are home from Arizona for the summer, so I got to see them.
First Haircut Since COVID
I got my first haircut since COVID “started” over a year ago! I decided a long time ago that I would need to find a new stylist and salon.
UTV & First Restaurant Since COVID
My sister and nephew were at my parents’ house in Iola for a few days, so I took a trip over to visit them and see the new Polaris UTV my parents got for themselves. They ordered it a few weeks ago and weren’t expecting it until June, so that was a pleasant surprise!
Getting Back Out There
Now that I am officially 2 weeks past my second vaccine dose, I am basically safe to go out shopping, visit people, and so on. While wearing a mask, of course.
Weight Loss
I have been using the Noom weight loss app since last December. I’ve had a few ups and downs with my weight since then, but I have been steadily losing weight.
Second Dose
Vaccine
I got my second dose of the Pfizer vaccine yesterday!
It was once again a very quick process. Drove to UWGB, walked into the Kress Center, checked in at the desk, and a matter of minutes later, I was sitting in the waiting room for the precautionary 15 minutes after my shot.
Mask-Holes
35
It is my birthday. I turned 35-years-old. Yikes. I guess that is better than the alternative.
I still don’t even feel like I am a real adult, so it seems crazy. 40 is only 5 years away.
Easter 2021
We celebrated Easter this past Sunday with my family at my parents’ house. We all have at least one vaccination and spent most of our time outside, so we deemed it safe. We don’t always celebrate Easter in our family, since we aren’t religious. We used to do egg hunts and Easter meals as children at my grandparents’ house, but didn’t keep up with that as all of the younger generation grew up.
I plan my life out a day at a time, so my posting schedule can be erratic.
